From 7th to 12th October, 2015, YPIC 2015 Young Professionals International Competition organized by Hungarian Welding Association was held in Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Dr. Liu Zhenying, the Deputy Secretary-General of Organizing Committee of “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition and Chairman of Beijing ARC Science & Technology Co,. Ltd. led Chinese Group to take part in the activity in Hungary. The representatives come from China First Automobile Group Corporation, China Huaneng Group and Xi’an XD High Voltage Apparatus Co., Ltd. respectively. Among them, the contestants from China First Automobile Group Corporation organize a team and the contestants from China Huaneng Group and Xi’an XD High Voltage Apparatus Co., Ltd. organize another team.

The contestants from Germany, Britain, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary and China gathered together to share experience and broaden the horizon in the form of competition. Finally, Chinese representatives won the golden medal and silver medal on welding practical operation item and Best Welder Award after seven steps competition of welding robot programming, forge welding operation, metallographical identification, gas flow calculations, WPS technology file revision, weldment prefabrication, and welding practical operation. Besides, the Britain, China and Hungary won the first, second and third place respectively on team item.

As the associated event of International Institute of Welding (IIW), the competition aims to promote the skills exchange among young professionals. Furthermore, the seminar is also an important part of the competition. And the Chinese group members participated in each part seriously.

The excellent result of Chinese group is correlated to the high attention of highly skilled professionals cultivation of each participating unit, the organization of Chinese organizer Beijing ARC Science & Technology Co., Ltd, and the hard work of coaches and contestants. The contestants stood out by pre-competition selection and got the chance to participate in the competition on behalf of Chinese group. Although the committee did not disclose any specific items pre-competition and the competition documents were very abstract, the Chinese competitors still achieved honors within hard training after work. Finally, their sweats and efforts paid off. Opportunities will always be people ready. We were touched by their efforts. The couches have been supported them, encouraged them and accompanied them. Zhang Lichen, the couch in China First Automobile Group Corporation gave up holidays and festivals and tried his best to guide the contestants overtime despite of bad physical conditions. Cheng Ping, the couch in China Huaneng Group spent Mid-Autumn Festival and November Holidays together with the contestants without complaint. Their efforts all touched us deeply.

Moreover, in order to strengthen the international exchange and cooperation of advanced industrial manufacturing technology and process as well as the training and certification of skilled professionals, 2016 (4th) Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition hosted by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of P.R. of China (SASAC) and organized by Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. will be held in June, Beijing. Moreover, the Competition will be concurrent with the 2016 (2nd) International Conference on MANUTECH & SKILLS and 2016 MANUTECH & SKILLS Demonstration Show so as to further strengthen international technique exchange and cooperation, improve welding skills and accelerate the cultivation of welding professionals.
